John lauded Borderland's production of "Claudia's Family" presented at the Historic Y under the auspices of Scoundrel and Scamp. The play was initially workshopped with Old Pueblo Playwrights many years ago.
"Light the World Giving Machine". OPP is scheduled to participate in this event on November 30 at 2:39 and Dec 4 at 5 pm. OPP will present two short pieces; staged readings at La Encantada Mall, (by the Apple Store). Eric Everts, Meagan Jones, Ellie Vought and Joe Smith will provide their acting chops reading short plays by Jeffrey Webster and Leslie Powell. Directed by David Zinke, the event will, through a large vending machine, sell gifts of support for those in need - globally. This annual event is spearheaded by the LDS church and involves many faith communities.

Saguaro Music Theatre closed its production of “My Fair Lady” on Sunday. Dennis O’Dell nailed the infamous Mr. Dolittle, “draughly” managing to get to the church on time. Bravo Dennis. An OPP frequent reader, David Gunther, also appeared on stage, filling several roles as part of the ensemble, had a lovely solo moment, and was most elegant in the opening number. Kudos to some stellar production values. Seven musicians in the pit sounded like a full orchestra. The acting, vocals, sets and costumes and even the props were top notch. Minor complaint about sightlines, where the audience could see backstage activity because wing drapes were omitted.
